Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Severe Leg And Foot Cramps

I have severe leg cramps and also my foot cramps up really bad especially at night. My sleep is constantly disturbed because of this. I cannot wear shoes with heels on them only flat shoes. I was previously diagnosed with idiopathic neuropathy and told there was nothing they can do but my symptons are getting worse. My calf swells a little from time to time. Is there any hope.

HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for posting your query.

It is unlikely for a Neuropathy to cause cramp like pains . Neuropathy causes a sharp shooting llike pain . So the cause for your pain has to be something else.

The possibilities are Low Potassium or Calcium levels in the blood , Abnormal Blood circulation in the leg, Lower spine or disc problem . I advise you to get the following test done and revert back .

Serum Potassium , Calcium , Vitamin D3 , Venous and Arterial Doppler of Both lower limbs and X ray Lumbar spine.

Do some leg stretching exercise or Yoga . That will give you good relief.

Hope this information is useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.
