Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Severe Pain Above C Section Scar
MY WIFE HAD 3X C-SECTONS. THE LAST ONE WAS IN MARCH 2000. 5 DAYS AGO SHE NOTICED SWELLING ABOVE THE SCAR TISSUE. SHE VISITED HER GP YESTERDAY BUT NO JOY. EXPERIENCING SEVERE PAINS. SHE GOT DAKTAKOT OINTMENT TO APPLY TO THE AFFECTED AREA. HOW SERIOUS IS THIS PROBLEM PLEASE?
I understand your concern for the swelling and severe pain above C section scar.
It appearance that your wife got change of scar to keloid. It is an over proliferation of the scar tissue which causes pain and discomfort over the scar area and even sometimes seer pain in the same.
For the treatment I suggest my patients to apply a medium to strong potency steroid based cream over the scar tissue. If at all the pain is not relived then I generally go for intra-lesional injection of steroid in the same.
You can meet a dermatologist for further guidance. For the pain part I generally give a pain killer tablet such as paracetamol for two time per day.
All the best.
