Suggest Treatment For Swelling Below Lip And Blood Blister
Hello, I am a 62 year old female in excellent health. Weight 127 lbs, height 5 1 . I exercise regularly I do not smoke and rarely drink alcohol. My problem is my inside lip. It has been raw since May 2013. The swelling is right behind the lip line and look jelly like, occasionally ther with be a pin prick blood blister. I have been to my doctor. She put be on an anti fungal med in June and just this week I am usin nystatin mouth rinse. I have seen an oral surgeon, says nothing is wrong. I saw a dermatologist who did a slew of blood work, all negative. I ve have a biopsy done by an ENT, negative. And I ve been to an allergist. I do have food allergies. Although this does not hurt it is constant and feels unpleasant. Am I missing anything.
It may be mucocele... mucinous cyst containg mucin. It may occur due to damage to salivary gland in the inner area of lip. Consult the oral surgeon. After thorough examination and investigations,he may remove the cyst surgically under local anaesthesia.
Hope this helps.
