Hi,

Hydrocarbon's are extract of the crude oil which has some lethal effects in the body depends on the route of administration. These substance, since highly volatile, aspirated so often. Symptoms depends on the amount of exposure ranging from mild breathlessness, to nausea, headache, vomiting, pulmonary edema, etc.

Local injection of the hydrocarbon may cause fat necrosis with sterile abscess that is necrosis of the local tissue. If the exposure is very minimal, it may relieves after mild skin irritation. There may be tissue necrosis which might be removed surgically for better outcome. Higher antibiotics are advised to prevent secondary infections. Visit the emergency room, if you feel any nausea, headache, breathlessness, confusion or any other significant symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
