Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Feet And Ankles
I am checking for possible causes of swelling of both feet and ankles. Onset 48 hours ago. No trauma or overuse injury. No other symptoms. I am 67 year old male who was drinking heavily while on a 3 week vacation in Hawaii. 5 5 160 pounds. Workout about 5 hours a week. Swelling occurred at the end of vacation.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Swelling of feet and ankle are see with following diseases. 1. Liver diseases like cirrhosis 2. Kidney diseases like Renal failure. 3. Heart diseases like congestive heart failure 4. Hypoproteinemia 5. Lung disease like cor pulmonale. So better to consult doctor and get done liver function test, ultrasound examination of abdomen, Renal function test, ecg, 2d echo, serum protein levels, chest x ray etc to rule out above mentioned causes. Treatment for each one is different. So first diagnose the cause and then start appropriate treatment. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
