Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Finger Post Injury

I scratched myself o I should say got jabbed with a harp piece of plastic under my fingernail approx 6-6 days ago. It s been sore for days put today it looks like the tip of my finger is swollen, reddis-purple and is hot to touch. Very sensitive if I hit it or bump it into something? I feel silly but should I have someone look at this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is due to inflammation following the injury.
As a first line management you can take analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like Aceclofenac/Seratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist you can consult an orthopaedician and start on antibiotics.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
