Suggest Treatment For Swelling In The Hip After A Fall

I am a 71-year-old male who was walking on crutches because of a broken left fibula that occurred on February 3. I lost my balance Getting out of my car and fell backwards on my right hip. In my right pocket was a small pencil sharpener that I apparently fell right on. The swelling has become very large approximately 9 inches from top to bottom and an inch or more thick. There is no pain when I walk other than the pain from the bruise so I don t think anything is broken. Other than icing should I do anything for the swelling? Thank you

Hello,

After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that the swelling can be because of fracture which requires proper and treatment. It’s recommended for you to get an X- ray done and consult an orthopaedition for further treatment.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
