General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your dad was diagnosed with swollen optic nerve (R). His blood workouts, MRI, CT showed normal reports. You have not mentioned any eye symptoms or vision problems of your dad. To keep the vision from worsening sometimes the treating doctor may recommend spinal tap to keep the pressure down. If the symptoms do not respond to treatment he may recommend surgery to protect further damage of the optic nerve.

Optic nerve pressure can be relieved naturally also to prevent further damage. Limit caffeine or addictions if any, stay well hydrated, sleep with head elevated, take quality sleep, avoid stressful lifestyle and stay away from tension / anxiety. Take balanced, healthy home made food. Take vitamin B6, B12 supplements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
