Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

It would be helpful to see a specialist who may be able to collect the secretion or fluid to send for testing from these lesions.

You wouldn't want to collect this yourself because it should be done under sterile circumstances. The fluid needs to be identified as pus (infection/fungal/parasitic), tophi (gout), or clear/watery (viral or allergy-related).

Based on the identification of the fluid as well as what the lesions of the feet look like then, the proper treatment such as an antibiotic, antifungal, or antiparasitic agents can be recommended.

If this turns out to be gout then, other blood work and urine may need to be done with different medication prescribed to control symptoms and your lesions on the toes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dariush Saghafi, Neurologist
