Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Throat And Acid Taste In Mouth

For the past week I have had trouble breathing. i feel like there is something in my throat (a flap or something) that is blocking my windpipe. I can feel my breath going past it when i breath in. In itches and tickles. It s worse when i breathe in through my nose. I ve also been have a lot of indigestion and acid reflux with burning in the chest and throat and an acid taste in my mouth. I have GAD and Panic disorder which makes the symptoms worse, but they are still present even when anxiety is not. Is this all from anxiety or could something in my throat be swelling or out of place and blocking my windpipe? Should I attribute this to anxiety or should I go see a doctor?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain it seems that your symptoms are due to acid reflux only leading to swelling in throat and foodpipe and causing of something in throat as well as breathing difficulty..
I would suggest you to consult a Gastroenterologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Upper G.I endoscopy, Laryngoscopy etc can help in diagnosis..
In case of acid reflux you can be advised to take Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole or Omeprzole, H2 blockers like Ranitidine, antacids like calcium carbonate and also some lifestyle modifications like doing moderate exercise, taking short meals every 2 hours, avoid spicy and acidic foods, take short walk after meals, eat more of probiotics like Yoghurt and eat your dinner atleast 2 hours before sleeping..
Sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
