Suggest Treatment For Swelling In Wrist Due To Barbs

My son grabbed a tree branch and a black fuzzy catipillar with barbs or something like that squished near his wrist - now he has these barbs about 7 of them in his hand/wrist. The wrist and had are swolen and the barbs are deep in the skin. I gave him benadryl and put a paste of baking soda and water on his wrist. Any ideas?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The barbs in his hand need to be removed because the reaction will continue to occur once these foreign bodies are present.

They may also result in an infection in this area.

It would be best to take him to a doctor for assessment and treatment as soon as possible.

I hope this helps
