Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain the swelling and pain after a surgical procedure is a normal finding and it happens due to inflammation caused due to
injury cased to the soft tissues during the surgical procedure leading to swelling and pain..
You need not to worry and
steroids and painkillers can be very much relieving..
Follow the post operative instructions given to you by your
dentist to avoid any complications..
The other part of your complain is that in case if you have sensitivity or pain in the tooth of upper jaw there can be infection in the tooth which could have exposed the nerves causing irritation and pain.
In case if you have only severe sensitivity in the tooth there can be Dentinal
hypersensitivity which causes sensitivity of the tooth due to exposed root portions due to gum recession or due to loss of enamel from the tooth crown..
I would suggest you to get the tooth checked by yoyr dentist and in case of infection
root canal treatment or extraction depending on the condition of tooth can be done..
In case of hypersensitivity desensitizing pastes can help..
Hope this information helps..
