Suggest Treatment For Swelling On Feet And Ankles

I am almost 60 years old, and training for a long walk, 60 miles in a weekend. My feet and ankles stay swollen to the point of being uncomfortable all the time. I ve had swelling in feet/ankles to some degree for quite some time, but this is far more. My questions is, with no other health issues, what would you recommend? Swelling goes down temporarily when my feet are elevated, but the minute I put them back on the ground they puff right back. thank you for taking the time to respond

Hello

Swelling in feet and ankle may be due to many causes like prolong standing, hypothyroidism, hypertension, renal or cardiac problem, anemia etc.
You may need clinical evaluation and few routine tests.
You may need routine hemogram, random blood sugar, lipid profile, renal and liver function test, ultrasound of abdomen, thyroid profile,ECHO.
I suggest to take limited salt in diet.
Avoid prolong standing. You may need few medicines after clinical evaluation and investigation reports.

Get well soon.
Take Care
