Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been getting a cut on the corner of my eyes periodically within the past few months. Sometimes it will lead to swollen eyelids and even blood shut eyes. I ve been to an eye doctor who prescribed an antibiotic eye drop but that seemed to fuse my eyelids together when I slept. Any help?
What you are describing seems to be a bacterial or a viral conjunctivitis. The conjunctiva is a part of eye lining and it is infected by a virus or a bacteria.
There is also a chance that you have blepharitis along with this which is due to the swelling of the eyelids. In case of the eye lid swelling, you can be treated with eye drops.
In this case, you may need specific antibiotics to help you. This is because the antibiotic drops you are taking may not be effective against the virus or the bacteria. You should see your Doctor again and get a culture and sensitivity done. The test will help determine which antibiotic the bacteria is sensitive to and then you can get it treated.
Take the appropriate drops to get the treatment. Wishing you a speedy recovery. All the best.
Hope this helps you
