Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Feet And Ankles

I am 74 years old and coming off an extended period of 8 weeks of my heart being out of rhythm. My feet and ankles swelled to the point that you could not find my ankles and now it feels like the little people are sticking pins and needles in my lower legs. Also my diabetes has gone crazy high for no apparent reason. Any thoughts?

Hi There

After going through your query I understand your concern.

I would like to tell you that swelling in feet and ankle can be because of either your cardiac rhythm disorder leading to heart failure or due to kidney disorder. Following test are required for proper evaluation- Echocardigraphy, CBC, Renal Function Test, serum electrolytes , F/PPBS, HBA1c and ultrasound abdomen. Kindly get these tests done and consult your treating Physcian for further management.

Hope to have been helpful.

Kind Regards
Dr. Navneet Bansal
