Suggest Treatment For Swelling On The Foot After A Fall

I fall on Saturday down several stairs and landed on the concrete floor. I saw a physician and he said i had no broken bones and soft tissue trauma. I had 2 hematoma in my leg. I just noticed my footis swollen. Should i elevate my leg? Is this normal?

Hi..

Swelling is commonly seen after soft tissue injury and can take a while to get better..

It can be due to accumulation of inflammatory fluids post injury..

Yes, elevation and icing can very much help in relief..

Along with it you can also take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and avoid too much exertion..

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
