General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted the history abut 56 year old female with known history of planter fascitis, arthritis at other joints, felt tearing/pulling sensation on inner part of ankle and now have pain in ankle joint and inner part of the same.
This looks to be the case of wither stretched or injured ligaments of the ankle joint as the commonest cause.
Other reasons can be arthritis of ankle joint.
Fracture of some bone.
This can be well diagnosed by MRI study of the joint and around.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Consultl an Orthopedic Surgeon for clinical examination.
MRI/CT scan of the affected area.
Plaster cast or supportive dressings as indicated.
Anti-inflammatory medication.
Elevate the affected limb above heart level to reduce pain and edema.
Rest of the treatment as per the findings of investigations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
