Suggest Treatment For Swelling, Redness And Rashes On The Breasts

My daughter had a breast biopsy four days ago. They did not take out the mass, but sent a piece for biopsy. The breast was swollen and somewhat red. We are thinking inflammatory cancer. It is 5 cm and appeared only three months after her last mammogram. It is draining serous fluid now. She has now developed a rash on her breast, part of her stomach and arm. Would a reaction to something used in surgery happen four days later or could this be another sign of inflammatory cancer?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, most probably it is a reaction to anesthetic or any other substances used during the procedure. Plus, if it was infected, the infection might have spread.

She needs immediate medical attention. Send her to ER or ask to see her oncologist as soon as possible as she needs to take prescription meds immediately. Do not stay at home.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
