Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Bruised Foot

Hi, about an hour and a half ago I dropped a ceramic plate on the top of my foot (the bone going to my big toe). It immediately bruised and swelled, although not a tremendous amount. It is very painful even after ice and elevation. I can walk and slightly bend my toes, but it stings when I do. What do you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to the injury. I suggest to use anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using cold compresses for local application and avoid movements of the leg. If the symptoms continue, I suggest to go at the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
