Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Bruised Index Finger

Hi, I hit my index finger on the tile floor pretty hard as I went to pick something up and now its swollen and a little bruised looking - but only at the second inside joint. I can also bend it but not as far down as my other finger. Do you think it is broken? What should I do? Thank you, in advance.
