Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Bruised Knee

Hello. I am a 25 year old female mother of a 5 year old and a 1 year old. YEsterday I woke up with my right eye blood shot on the outter side. Later in the afternoon I noticed my left knee swollen and felt bruised but didn't notice any bruise. My knee feels numb and swollen from the upper outter part of my left knee all the way up to about mid thigh. The most noticable swelling and tenderness is right at the upper outter part of my knee. Do these two link in any way or just a coincidence? And what can cause the two?
