i am 43 yrs old and male. i am 6 1 and 220 lbs. i wouldnt say im overweight, i used to work outbut have let myself go as of lately. i have noticed that my calves are swollen everyday, so bad that my socks leave rings around my calves. i can push in on my swollen area and it leaves dents in my legs for a few mins. i tried bootie socks and now my feet are very swollen. my blood pressure is on brink of hypertension. could u give me an idea of what may be causing the swelling?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen and painful calves . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like DVT , bursitis , diabetic neuropathy , gout , plantar fasciitis , rheumatoid arthritis or tendinitis . If condition doesn't get well then consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test like CT scan , MRI along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant along with anti inflammatory along with recommend physical therapy along with stretching exercises .Doctor may recommend surgical excision of lump . Doctor may also refer you to nephrologist for kidney problem . I would suggest you to put your legs in hot water tub with epsom salt in it for 15 minutes daily , do gentle massage with sesame oil and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
