Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Knee In A 14 Year Old Boy

My 14 year old son is starting to have pain and slight swelling behind his knees... He has grown 4 to 5 inches in the last 6 months. He is almost 6 feet tall could this be growing pains? He is also a basketball player and the extra running is making the pain worse...

Hi,
It seems that he might be having some knee injury while playing sports givining rise this problem.
There might be having some ligament or maniscus injury due to some twist at knee joint.
Consult orthopedic surgeon and get examined.
Give rest to the part.
