Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Legs

I am a 47 yr old female I have been having unilateral(left) sided swelling leg. DR took xray fibrous area noted end of femur he said something like the growth plate was floating not sure. He suggested bone scan and mri. My left side musles are slightly more formed and yet the side that isn't swelling could be atrophied? curious why the bone scan does he suspect that dark spot is
bone cancer?
