Hi, was wondering if someone could help me, not sure if i should go see a doc quite yet. The inside of my lips are swollen and red and there appears to be a larger red clump of little bubbles on my lower lip. Throughout the day it seems to have gotten worse. They sting, especially after i eat. They have been sensitive the last few days maybe as long as a week but today is pretty bad. It feels like raw skin inside my mouth. Can someone help me with a possible diagnosis? Thank you! Ashley
Understanding your concern. As per your query yoi have swollen and painful lips which could be due angioedema and severe allergic reaction to allergen. It is a type of urticaria. It could be due to dehydration and stress as well. I would suggest you to apply petroleum jelly on it. You should drink plenty of water. You should take combination of levocetrizine along with Ibuprofen if it is painful . Avoid exposure to sunlight. Visit dermatologist once and get it examined. Start treatment after proper diagnosis. Take supplements rich in vitamin B12. You should give cold compresses to lips 2-3 times a day, take over the counter antihistamine drug like benadryl. Adrenaline injection could be one of the treatment option.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
