Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Lower Abdomen

During the evening hours, I tend to have cramping in the lower right area of my abdomen. It feels hard & looks slightly swollen, but feels better when I am laying down. I did have a bowel movement this morning and it happens a couple of evenings a week, usually starts a couple of hours after supper and subsides after I go to bed. I asked my doctor about it before and he thought it was just a bowel cramp, but I m not sure since I had one this morning.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to get an ultrasound abdomen. Swelling in abdomen is usually due to organomegaly or organ enlargement. The bowel can harden and soften depending on the peristaltic wave. I suggest you to consult your surgeon for prescription of investigations and for management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
