Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Painful Tongue

I bit my tongue lastnight in my sleep, so bad that I woke up and it was bleeding. The part I bit is hanging and my tongue is swollen. I feel like I have a lump in my throat and cannot chew on anything. Should I be worried? Is there anything I can do to help it heal quickly?

HI.
First of all clean the mouth with cold water and see the extent of the injury.
IF it is still bleeding you may need a few stitches to stop bleeding and to get approximation of the cut edges.

Secondly no one bites the tongue so much in sleep; this indicates that you might have got an attack of epilepsy or so. You need to undergo clinical evaluation by a Neurologist and an MRI of the brain too.
Get a course of an antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines and get few stitches if required, you will be fine.
