Suggest Treatment For Swollen And Tender Stomach After Medical Abortiona
I had a medical abortion 5 days ago. It was the most painful experience I have went through. I have been still passing clots and experiencing lower back/hip pain. My stomach was very swollen and tender until today when the lower back pain started. I have not had a fever. My follow up appointment is scheduled for next week. Am I correct to be afraid of infection.
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Pain, distended abdomen, lower back pain and passage of clots after abortion can be due to: 1. Post abortion infection or pelvic inflammatory disease 2. Retained products of conception inside uterus. I would suggest you to consult your doctor to get properly examined and investigated using a ultrasound to assess the cause. Further treatment should be done accordingly. You should contact your doctor as soon as possible, to prevent further complications. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
