Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My ankle started swelling and being painful the year after my son was born. He is 17 now. It is swollen most of the time but occasionally the swelling goes down. It hurts all the time. I had a podiatrist tell me I had a heel spur and he gave me cortisteroid (spelling?) shots until he got to a point where he said I couldn't have anymore shots because it would weaken the tendon next to the spur. I had physical therpy using shock which was a joke. I went to an orthopedic surgeon and he said he didn't see a heel spur on the x-ray he took. I have the x-ray at home of the spur that the podiatrist took. Shouldn't the doctors order a more in depth test than an x-ray. I cannot believe I'm gonna have to suffer with this for the rest of my life it is affecting my quality of life. Please help.
