Suggest Treatment For Swollen Area In Labia Majora

I have a very swollen area on my labia majora that has become more tender to the touch. About an inch in length, like a large grape. Its not red or itchy, just painful. No shaving, no intercourse. Started small and has enlarged past 2 days. Tried cold pack, didn't help. Have read alternating hot compresses help. Do not want to go to doctor. Advice?
