Suggest Treatment For Swollen Bruising On Shin After Injury
About two months ago I was playing softball and a girl slid into the base when I was going down for the tag. She slid right into my shin. When that happened I fell down right away because it hurt. After a couple minutes it got better when I got into the dug out a b bruise was already formed. The bruise gradually got worse and it lasted for about a month. Now it s gone but when it still gets swelled up and a bump is there. It s doesn t hurt unless pushed on and there is no discoloring. What could this be?
hello there, the shin is an area of subcutaneous bone.It means the bone lies directly under the skin with not much muscle or fat to shield it. when the shin gets injured it is often accompanied by a contusion I.e bruise and compression of the bone's outermost layer called the periosteum. Therefore the shin's injury takes a longer time to heal. Since now it is only tender to touch and you do not have any movement restrictions it has healed more or less. the bruising will also reduce and disappear but in some time. You can apply cold ice packs to the area to reduce any soreness and can have a multivitamin a day for 7 days to promote healing. Also have calcium in the form of milk, meat or yoghurt. hope this helps, please feel free to get back to me with any further queries,
