Suggest Treatment For Swollen Eyelids And Burning Sensation On The Face

Hello. Two weeks ago i woke up with swollen eyelids redness and itching, and burning on my face. I applied cold compresses and the swelling reduced within 24 hours and then I notice six small hives around both eyes, I thought mosquito bites. The swelling around the eyes has passed but my face is very itchy, red and a bit puffy. I have pre-existing rosacea on my face.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having angioedema.
My treatment advice is -
1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months.
2. Don't take any medication without consulting a doctor as it may worsen the condition.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral steroid like prednisone or betamethasone taken after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
