Suggest Treatment For Swollen Eyelids

I have had a swollen upper right eyelid for a few days now. It s getting more swollen each day. It is painful to blink and painful to the touch. I had orbital cellulitis in 5th grade and just want to err on the side of caution...any thoughts? Maybe just an allergy or irritation?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.

Based on your symptoms, I would like to rule out a stye or foreign object.
I recommend :
-washing your eye with clean boiled and cooled water.
-apply cool compress with clean wash cloth or soaked and squeezed cotton to relieve pain and inflammation.
-seek an ophthalmologist opinion as soon as possible to make correct diagnosis
-avoid itching or rubbing your eye. Don't attempt to use any Instruments to manipulate your eye.

I don't believe it is just an allergy. Please see a doctor asap.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
Wish you good health
