Suggest Treatment For Swollen Foot While Having Staph Infection
I had a staph infection on my foot and have been taking augmentin for about two weeks. I still have a few days left of the prescription. Although my foot looks better, it is still swollen. Also, I now seem to have a vaginal rash that is somewhat painful.
As a physician I would strongly recommend that you should complete your full course of Augmentin as prescribed by your physician. Staph infection is a tough one and takes times to subside. The inflammation is because of Stapha infection and its byproducts which usually takes 2 to 3 weeks to clear off after starting Augmentin course.
Thus you need not to worry about that. Also, your treating physician must have prescribed anti-inflammatory for it like Enoflam-D tablets. I would suggest that you should visit your consulting physician if the swelling does not subside after 3 weeks or if the swellings appears to be increasing and more painful. If there is any wound, avoid contact with water and keep it dry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Abhijeet
