Suggest Treatment For Swollen Gums And Infection

6 months ago I went to my dentist for my checkup. They noticed that the gums behind my front two teeth and bottom two teeth were disconnecting from my teeth, so after doing a deep cleaning (I think) they prescribed me this medical mouthwash. Now six months later the gums behind my two front teeth are still swollen and the gums behind my bottom two teeth are still disconnecting and this is a problem when I floss. I ve been flossing and brushing my teeth twice a day after my appointment, I don t know why its not healing. I also wear braces. I ve had them for 11 months now.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain swollen gums is a sign of infection and it occurs due to plaque deposition over the teeth and when you wear braces there are certain areas of teeth which could remain uncleaned and it can be a very potent cause that the infection persist in the gums causing gum swelling..

I would suggest you to consult your orthodontist and get evaluated and get a deep cleaning of the teeth done so that there is complete removal of infectious deposits..
You should also take a course of antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole for 5 days to reduce infection..
Application of antimicrobial ointments and gum paint can be helpful..
Use concentrated antimicrobial mouth wash to gargle..
Warm saline gargles can help..
There are specialized toothbrushes known as Orthodontic brushes available for individuals with braces and they can help in better cleaning between the braces..

Hope this information helps..
