Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
Swollen gums can be due to many reasons.
1. If you have a localized swelling on gum, the most common reason might be a dental abscess as a result of dental decay.
2. Other common reason of localized swelling on gum is periodontal abscess (collection of pus inside gum tissue).
3. Next is localized gingivitis or infection of gums

Treatment depends upon the cause. In case of periodontal abscess/ gingivitis scaling & curretage is required. In case of dental decay root canal treatment/ extraction of tooth may be required.

You should visit a dentist, he would make diagnosis and treat accordingly. In meanwhile you could take metronidazole 400 mg thrice a day.

Hope this information helps

Hi Shashank..

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain if you have a localized area of gums that is swollen along with a history of having a poor oral hygiene then there can be a Gum abscess or a Periodontal abscess secondary to gum infection due to deposition of bacteria deep into the gum crevices and causing infection and pus formation..

You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a deep Scaling and curettage and advise you to take antibiotics like Augmentin and Metronidazole and Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen chewable Vitamin C pellets and warm saline gargles..
Topical application of antimicrobial Oral pastes will help..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
