Suggest Treatment For Swollen Hand Due To Cat Bite

I was bitten by my cat on the top of my left hand Wednesday afternoon, went to the emergency that evening with significant swelling and I m on Augmentin three times a day for 10 days . This is the third day, and I ve taken about 8 tablets since I started. My hand is still quite swollen, no worse but seemingly not much better. How and when will I know if the antibiotic is working? I would really appreciate your thoughts on this.

your treatment for cat bite is for preventing infection. but in my opinion first you have to clean the wound, and take inj tetanus toxoid. although the chance is less but you should take treatment for prevention of rabies. keep the cat under observation. if it dies then you have to receive rabipur for prevention of rabies. if it remain healthy then need not worry.
