Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi, i'm a 32 yr old female who's legs swelled when i had pre-eclampsia with my 1st daughter, the swelling never went down and now 10yrs later i've been diagnosed with lipidemia and hate my legs due to this. I never wear skirts or shorts or go anywhere my legs will be on display, i was sent to see a plastic surgeon who agreed liposuction would make my legs look better but when my case was sent to the medical board for funding they decided the treatment was cosmetic so would not fund it. Its not only my life that is affected by this but both my daughters are as i wont take them swimming and i'm not very confident. I've seen on the internet about lipid reducing medication and was just wondering would they make any difference to me? Or if u know of any treatment/medication that could help me, its getting me down a lot lately especially with a family holiday in a couple of wks.
Thanks
Lisa
