Hello,

Your swollen lymph nodes are indicative of infection you acquired from your child.

Since you have painful swallowing you need to visit an ENT or a GP & get physically examined to detect swelling of the lymph nodes or the tonsils.

You need to get blood tests, sputum & swab tests done. Your treating doctor will give you a course of antibiotics & anti-inflammatory medications.

In the meantime do warm saline gargle 3-4 times a day. You can apply a warm compress to get relief.

If it is strep throat or tonsillitis is should get cured. Sometimes, untreated tonsillitis may lead to the formation of abscess & then may require surgery. Do not neglect. Get treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
