Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes In My Groin Area

Hi, I am a Melanesian female (48 yo). A week ago I started noticing swelling of lymph nodes in my groin area. In just four days, the lump grew and it is so painful to move my right leg and I had to limp everywhere and I only feel comfortable lying down. Also turning in bed is a nightmare. I have been prescribed aspirin and flucloxacillin.
Could there be an infection in my leg or is it lymphoma?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Since the symptoms are acute, it is more likely an infection.

Lymph nodes increase in size as a result of any inflammation in the area in which they drain. The lymph nodes themselves can also become inflamed or infected.

The use of the antibiotics and aspirin should help. There are some other anti inflammatory pain killers available that may be helpful if the aspirin is not enough to help with the pain. Eg celebrex, naproxen, arcoxia

If an abscess (collection of pus) is present then incision and drainage would be needed.

I hope this helps
