Suggest Treatment For Swollen Lymph Nodes In The Neck And Ear Area

my lymph nodes are swollen in my neck and I woke up with a lump on my head above my ear. Its very tender , In addition, I am very tired. I have had a stiff neck for a few months, had massages but had no idea it could mean anything other than purchasing a new pillow. In addition, I had my lower right stomach area had shooting pain penetrating to my lower back. Any idea what could be wrong. humm..

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of swollen lymph nodes in the neck and ear area . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like reactionary lymphadinitis , tonsillitis , viral infection or allergic reaction . You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and get tested for bacterial infection like throat swab test and viral infectionlike viral culture test to rule out the exact cause of infection and treatment can be planned accordingly. Doctor may prescribe anti bacterial or anti viral depending upon the diagnosis . If there are recurring episodes of the same then Tonsillectomy will only provide permanent relief. But in case if the swelling does not resolve a BIOPSY of the lymph ndes can help in making a correct diagnosis and a proper treatment . For now apply warm compresses to swelling and take anti histamine like benadryl.
