Suggest Treatment For Swollen Painful Knee And Difficulty Walking

I slipped and fell pretty hard, directly on my knee a couple of days ago and it s very sore. I can walk on it, but with a slight limp because I cannot completely straighten it. It s a little swollen and hot feeling and randomly, I will feel a popping when I walk or bend my knee. I don t think anything is broken, but I m wondering if I could have cracked\fractured my knee cap. Thoughts and suggestions?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the trauma was significant then it is possible that there is a fracture but you would need to see your doctor and have an x ray done to determine this.

If this is the case then you would need to consult an orthopedic surgeon for further management. The exact treatment would depend on the severity of the fracture.

I hope this helps
