Suggest Treatment For Swollen Spots On Arms And Face
I got stung bs a wasp on Monday on my leg got antibiotics on Tuesday , we d myarms and face r full of spots and a bit swollen , my doctor has given me tavanic ,dalicin c 150 ,deltacortril ent 5 mg , I have taken them twice today and my face is still hot and spotty , ime flying to the uk tomorrow , how long will it take to calm down , thanks
You seem to be having an allergic reaction. Deltacortil is a steroid that will help reduce the allergic reaction. The usual dose is 10-20 mg a day, so you may need a few tablets a day to have the needed effect.
The other two medications are antibiotics that may help if signs of secondary infection are present but will not help with the allergy.
You may need some antihistamine to reduce the symptoms, loratadine 10 mg at night is a good choice. With the right dose of the steroid and the use of the antihistamines, the skin rash will start to gradually settle down in a day or two.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
