Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tonsils And Bumps In Neck

Hi Dr, I ve had swollen tonsils for a few weeks now and I even notice that both side of my neck has a bump. I don t have a fever, no patches on the tonsils but my throat feels a little tight. My blood test results came back normal and I even got an ultrasound and the result indicated that I do have swollen tonsils. I was referred to get an uptake thyroid exam but i can t do so until four weeks later since I ve been taking vitamins. Today, I ve noticed that the bumps on both side of the neck had gotten a little bigger. Do you have any recommendation? My doctor won t do anything for me until I get my uptake. Thank you for your time.

Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms. The bumps in the neck are probably related to reactive lymph nodes. I recommend to rest and drink a lot of liquids.
