Suggest Treatment For Swollen Tonsils, Short Breath, Chest Pain And Weakness

About 3 weeks ago I developed a cold and told it was a virus. The coughing, stuffy nose went away then proceeded to swollen tonsils that were only red for three days accompanied by heavy drainage. Now I m short of breath (more of I can t get a breath deep enough or something it s weird), weak, and my heart pounds with the slightest activity. I m concerned of what it could be.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of flu 3 weeks ago followed by swollen tonsils, heavy drainage, shortness of breath, weakness and heart pounding on slightest of activity.
All these symptoms are suggestive that you are sufferning from bacterimia nad septicemia too.
I would advise you the following:
Intravenous antibiotics and treatment in a hospital.
Clinical evaluation and examination
tests of blood- CBC, culture and sensitivity
Throat swab for gram staining and culture and sensitivity
tests of urine
X-ray of the chest and sinuses to see if there is pneumonia or sinusitis.
You need an intensive therapy in a hospital.
