Suggest Treatment For Swollen Vein Or Vessel On Palm

I seem to have a swollen blood vessel or vein on the palm of my hand. Located just under the ring finger near the hollow of the hand. Very sensitive to touch and little swollen. I was shaking a paint can and hitting it in palm of left hand and must have hit a vein. This was some time ago. It has maybe been a month and it is still swollen. Just hit it again by accident while working and made it worse. Does not hurt unless press on it but doesn t take much pressure. What should I do to treat. Is this serious or will it go away on its own. Hope you can help. Thanks.
