Hi my daughter just turned 7 months. She has cold symptoms, runny nose, cough, very mild higher temp. This has been for 3 weeks now, but today she started with a hoarse voice..ive had her checked twice and she s all clear with her lungs and ears but her throat was a little red..
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of symptoms of cold in an infant which are pointing towards upper respiratory tract infection leading to common cold, which can be caused by bacterial or viral infection. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult pediatrician for proper examination. Doctor may order test like viral culture test , throat swab test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis and rule out causes. Doctor may prescribe antibacterial amoxicillin or anti viral acyclovir depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants. You should take steam inhalation along with vaporizers. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food. For now you should do gargles and drink one spoon of honey mix with glass of lukewarm water.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
