Suggest Treatment For Synovial Cyst And Sciatica

I had 2 synovial cysts, one of which was causing severe sciatica. That was dealt with by surgery. The other smaller one remains. I also now have bowel problems in that I cannot fully empty myself when I defecate as I used to do easily. I then have to return 2 or more times during the day, sometimes only being able to then do so by digital insertion to clear and clean the anal passage. Are the two connected?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your query.
* Sciatica caused by spinal problem ( lumber spine).. can cause pain/ difficulty in defecation.
* BUt as your scitica was diagnosed due to cynovial cysts.. first try with high fiber diet/ sufficient water intake (3 liters ) & abdominal excercises & walking for 30 minutes in a day ... mostly your problem would subside.
- Investigations for intestinal infections/ infestations & treatment would help.
- Xray lumber spine & orthopedic surgeon's consultation would help you in case there is lumber spine problem.
thanks,

I find this answer helpful
