Suggest Treatment For Tail Bone Injury

My 13 year old son hurt his tale bone quit a while back like probally over a year ago. He has recently been complaining he can't do curl ups it hurts his tale bone. He feels as though it is poking him. Now this evening he thought he may have had blood in his stool and/or on toilet paper. Could he have puntured his colon by his tale bone or something?
