Suggest Treatment For Tear At The Top Of Intergluteal Cleft

I have a small tear at the top of my buttcrack. It had been itchy and hurting for a few days and i have hydranitis supperativa so i thought it was just a boil. I finally took a look last night and there is a tear in my skin right where the line in my buttcrack is. It looks like the skin tore open and i can see flesh. I am so terrifed. Do i need surgery on this? What is it from?

Hi,

Nothing to worry as of now. This is probably a superficial ulcer, which is common in skin fold areas like inter gluteal cleft. This occur as the skin in such areas are frequently soaked in sweat/moisture.

Just keep the area clean and dry. Apply antibiotic creams like mupirocin. This will disappear in 5-7 days. If not, kindly show to your doctor once.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam TK
